Part-Time/Full-Time CNA (Hospice Aide)

The Hospice Aide is a professional member of the hospice interdisciplinary team who provides personal care and related services in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and within standards of clinical practice as defined by Federal and State Laws and regulations and the policies and procedures of Klamath Hospice, Inc. The Hospice Aide performs duties for patients/families according to the hospice plan of care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and Clinical Manager.

Full-Time position offers and excellent benefits package including fully paid medical, dental, short/long term disability, and up to 25 days of paid time off.

– Current Certified Nursing Assistant license from the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
– Ability to obtain Certified Nursing Assistant license from the California State Board of Nursing.
– Basic computer knowledge. Ability to obtain proficiency in EMR program.
– Knowledge of general Certified Nursing Assistant theory and practice.
– Ability to perform detailed work in a timely manner with accuracy and thoroughness.
– Ability to respond well to supervision and to work independently when appropriate.
– Excellence with communication skills and ability to be professional and courteous.
– Current BLS certification.
– Possess valid state driver’s license and reliable automobile, and be willing to operate personal car necessitated by nature of job.
– Proof of current automobile insurance with minimum state financial responsibility limits.

Supplemental RNs
The Hospice Supplemental Registered Nurse is responsible for providing and documenting care for terminally ill patients from day of admission through day of discharge.  Utilizing physicians’ orders and professional skills, and in coordination with the other members of the interdisciplinary team, the Hospice Supplemental RN implements a hospice plan of care that meets each patient’s specific needs and is in compliance with Federal and State regulations, reimbursement guidelines, as well as the organization’s policies and procedures.  Participates in on-call rotation (including weeknights and weekends).

– Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
– Current RN license from the Oregon State Board of Nursing, with the ability to obtain a RN license from the California Board of Registered Nursing.
– Experience as an RN commensurate with ONE of the following: one year acute care experience within the last three years; one year home health care experience within the last three years; one year community health or public health experience within the last three years; one year hospice experience within the last three years; or, have a baccalaureate degree in nursing from a program accredited by the National League of Nursing.
– Current BCLS certification
– Basic computer knowledge
– Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice
