Grief
and
Loss

  • a natural and normal response to the loss of someone or something we care about,

  • influenced by a number factors including prior grief experiences, circumstances surrounding the loss and religious and cultural beliefs,

  • not a linear process with a prescribed timeframe; thoughts, feelings and emotions will come and go,

  • not something that we “get over”, but instead integrate into a “new normal” and

  • comprised of physical and emotional responses.
